October 2006.

Dear Friends and Supporters,

It gives us great joy to share how God has helped us and used us in different activities to grow His church through His gospel in diverse areas.

Great Experience at the Graduate Reunion of Colegio Biblico

This was a great blessing for those who assisted and participated in this great experience of developing this program. Mario served as President of this organization for the last two years.  This reunion was celebrated at the Piedras Negras Campus on September 15-17.

Chamacuero Christian Camp at another Level

By the grace of God, Mario serves as president for this camp and will continue until 2007. There have been a couple of business camp meetings, one on August 26 and one on September 30 at the Guillen Church of Christ, all this with the end of establishing rules and guidelines that the camp gatekeeper will have.  On October 14 another meeting was held with area churches involved. The new job for a year round gatekeeper was adopted and approved. In this meeting, the candidate couple was presented. In January 2007 they will begin living, maintaining, building and taking care of the camp. We give thanks to God for Miguel and Amalia. This will take the Chamacuero Camp to a new level that it may be in use the 365 days a year for diverse church activities.  Praise God!

On October 7 Betty and Ladies of the Church Went to Durango

This was a great experience for the new ladies at church as they assisted a ladies reunion in Durango. There were 600 ladies, 200 children and 100 men from 5 different states that assisted.  With joy and full of His word they followed the theme of “Under His Wings, We are Secure.” 2 commercial buses of 40 each traveled from our churches in Piedras Negras.  Mario and other men traveled along just for security.

City Donated Land for a New Church

At the beginning of the month of October we received the great news that the city finally decided to donate land to us for the construction of a church and a community kitchen.  In March 2007, with the help of mission groups form the States we will be able to lay down the foundations of this building.  Later in July, World Mission Builders under the direction of Ed Thomas and Dr. Joe Wilson, will come help finish this church and community kitchen.  From now we ask you to please be praying for this incredible project for 2007.

Quinceañera( Like a Sweet 16, but at 15) and a Campaign for the  40th Aniversary at Altamira

On October 14 we celebrated a beautiful ceremony of thanksgiving at Altamira church for the life of Ariana Elizabeth, daughter of the Pastor Vicente Gordillo and wife Maricela.  This was a great blessing and experience. During the last week of October we will be back at this church celebrating it’s 40 year anniversary.  Mario was an instrument of God during the beginnings of this church and also the lead pastor during 1985 thru 1988.  Mario and Betty were pastors and also helped establish elders and deacons at this church.  Mario and Betty were pleased to be used as instruments for the growth of this church and are very much please to be back rejoicing and celebrating the 40th Year Anniversary.

Our Friends’ Ebenezer Pecos & Linda Inchaustegui’s Visit

On Sunday October 22, our friends Pecos and Linda Inchaustegi from Mexico City sure blessed us with their visit.  They especially blessed us for the sharing and teaching of The Word at the new Ebenezer Church in Piedras Negras. He shared with us during Sunday school and also during our Communion Service. The we also shared and enjoyed delicious food and fellowship with the whole church.

World Mission Builders in Piedras Negras on January ‘07 and March ‘07 in Allende

In January and February World Mission Builders will be helping us build a chapel and an expansion of the nurses station at the State Prison in Piedras Negras.  Also they will be helping us hold evangelistic campaigns, children VBS programs with all types of activities at various churches. Mario will be coordinating these activities for which we ask your prayers for.

Mario Continues with Radio Mananatial World Radio Network.

Mario will continue as voluntary at KEPX 89.5 FM Cadena Radio Manantial WRN.  He continues his live program on Monday mornings from 6:30- 9 a.m. He also helps with other special events such as anniversaries or radio-thons.  On September 28 Mario held a special 12th anniversary program ending at 10ª.m. that morning with the city Mayor Chad Foster proclaiming September 28 as Radio Manatial Day.  The mayor gave us a beautiful certificate to display.  It was quite a day!

Possible Vacations for Mario & Betty This Holiday Season

A few times have we planned vacations and this time we are planning and wanted to share this dream with you. We are hoping to visit central and south of our country Mexico, exploring and learning more of our roots and taking some time off. We have heard there are pyramids somewhere in Mexico!

Our son Mario and his wife will hopefully join us in this journey, making this an even greater joy as we spend this time with our family. We want to make you participants of this dream.  So we would like to encourage you to consider helping us by dedicating a gift for this adventure. If we count them, this would be our 3rd formal vacation in our last 42 years. We are really looking forward to this time!! Please mark your gift on the memo line as “3rd Calderon Vacation.”  Thank you!

We say goodbye for now by expressing our sincere gratefulness for your love expressed through letters, calls, prayers and gifts for so many years. We sure do thank God for people like you that portray Christ likeness by supporting this ministry in which we have been able to see countless precious souls come to the feet of Christ.

  ¡Gracias, Muchas Gracias!
